Job summary

A leading Defence contractor in Adelaide is seeking a Welder to maintain and repair Defence vehicles. As a Welder, you will perform various welding techniques and ensure vehicles meet operational standards. The ideal candidate has a Cert III in Engineering and relevant experience in a workshop. The role offers competitive hourly rates and numerous benefits, including training and relocation assistance, and is available full-time from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Relevant previous experience as a Welder.
• Experienced in a workshop environment.
• Australian Citizen able to maintain Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on Defence vehicles.
• Conduct technical inspections and classifications.

Join Ventia in a role which keeps the Australian Defence Force’s wheels turning!

A great opportunity for a Welder to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Edinburgh SA near Adelaide.

As a Welder you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs and authorised structural and component modifications to Defence vehicles, plant, equipment and components. You will be using a variety of welding methods including electric arc, MIG and TIG welding or oxyacetylene welding or by machine in accordance with instructions and procedure.

About The Role

• Conducting maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification.
• Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements.
• Heat treat metal parts and components.
• Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
• Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting.
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing or bathing them in acid solutions, or by applying protective or decorative coatings.
  
  

About You

• Cert III Engineering - Boilermaker or Fabricator
• Relevant previous experience as a Welder
• Experienced in a workshop environment
• You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
