Job summary

Respect Group Limited in New South Wales is seeking a dedicated Food Services Assistant to support daily meal service in our aged care home, with additional cooking duties on weekends. You will assist with meal preparation, ensure nutrition and diet requirements are met, and help plate and serve meals while upholding high food safety standards.

Weekend availability and the ability to work as part of a compassionate care team are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, food service or hospitality.
• Experience cooking meals in a commercial or aged care setting.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes and dietary requirements accurately.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Caring and respectful approach when working with older people.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Flexibility to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and delivery of meals, snacks and beverages.
• Prepare and cook meals on weekends in line with menus.
• Meet residents' dietary and texture-modified requirements.
• Assist with plating, serving and meal distribution.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Clean kitchen equipment and preparation areas.
• Follow food safety procedures and policies.
• Support stock rotation, storage and general kitchen duties.
• Collaborate with care and hospitality teams.
• Create a positive dining experience for residents.
