Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a Chef with strong IDDSI understanding to lead our kitchen, delivering nutritious, high-quality meals in a warm, community-focused setting. The role emphasizes resident satisfaction and care, with weekend roster obligations.

You will oversee daily meal services, balance standard menus with texture-modified options, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain high standards in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• High-volume, fast-paced kitchen experience.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or corporate catering is valued.
• Resident-focused care with empathy, patience and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and directing daily meal services in a busy kitchen.
• Prepare standard menus plus texture-modified diets with care.
• Ensure dishes meet taste, nutrition, temperature and presentation standards.
• Uphold kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety documentation.
• Collaborate with a kitchen team to maintain a supportive work environment.
