Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a Web Systems Administrator / Web Developer to lead the delivery and management of our web-based systems and services, including external websites, intranet and various platforms. Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology Department as a Web Systems Administrator within the Digital Engineering and Experience Team.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the organisation's web-based systems and services, including Council's external websites, intranet and a range of web platforms and applications.

You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing existing systems while delivering new web-based solutions that support organisational objectives. Working independently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external providers, you will help ensure Council's digital services remain secure, reliable and user-focused.

This exciting role will:

  • Ensure the security and reliability of the Council’s web-based systems

You will bring substantial experience administering web-based systems, along with proven capability in designing, developing, implementing and supporting web-based solutions in a corporate environment.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication
  • The ability to lead technical outcomes within cross-disciplinary teams
  • Experience building productive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as agentic coding assistants, to support the development, testing and maintenance of web solutions
