Job summary

Talent in Canberra, ACT, seeks an experienced Web Developer to join a multidisciplinary delivery team. You will design, build and enhance modern web components, APIs and data access using React, TypeScript, Node.js and Express within an agile environment.

You will work with analysts, developers and testers to implement automated testing, maintain documentation and support system improvements under a 12-month contract with potential extensions. A current NV1 security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern build tools and bundlers (e.g., Webpack).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest).
• Experience working in Agile environments (Kanban, Scrum).
• Experience implementing UX specifications for public-facing applications.
• Experience with state management (Redux or MobX), routing and responsive design.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Understanding of secure authentication workflows and data handling.
• Ability to produce clear design and technical documentation.
• Current AGSVA NV1 security clearance is required; upgrades not sponsored.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software solutions.
• Develop and enhance public-facing web components and APIs.
• Collaborate with business and product owners to clarify requirements using Agile delivery methods.
• Translate logical designs into physical solutions and integrate software using Agile development practices.
• Enhance automation capabilities across existing systems and recommend appropriate new tools and structures.
• Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shell and Government Off-The-Shell software where required.
• Monitor systems and infrastructure and troubleshoot technical and support issues.
• Implement and maintain automated testing.
• Produce detailed technical and design documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the delivery team.
