Job summary

Cox Architecture in Sydney is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to focus on planning, strategy design, and the design and implementation of wayfinding projects. You will also create design reports, screen presentations and in-house publicity for production.

The role supports the Lead Senior Graphic Designer and collaborates with project directors and associates to deliver high-quality graphic solutions for national and international Cox projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience.
• Artistic or architectural sensibility, skill, and experience desirable.
• Ability to maintain a high-level production quality and output to be competitive in bidding on COX projects.
• Ability to maintain quality control in print production, typography, and proofreading.
• Good production knowledge when it comes to implementing graphic design concepts.
• Adept at taking job briefs.
• Developed problem solving abilities where each design job is not seen in isolation.

Responsibilities

• Attend job briefs with Directors, Associates, Project Architects, and the Lead Senior Graphic Designer.
• Support Lead Senior Graphic Designer.
• Lead creative on jobs assigned by Lead Senior Graphic Designer.
• Debrief on all jobs as required by the Lead Senior Graphic Designer.
• Liaise with client/consultants/suppliers as necessary.
• Manage workflow of all jobs assigned. Alert the Lead Senior Graphic Designer of any changes in scope or deadlines.
• Identify design/wayfinding issues and offer graphic solutions.
• Graphic layout of wayfinding signage and super graphics.

Position Summary:

This role will primarily focus on the planning, strategy design, and design and implementation of wayfinding projects. As well there will be a need to create design reports, screen presentations and inhouse publicity for production.

The incumbent assists the Lead Senior Graphic Designer with concept design and layout of graphic material in liaison with the Project Director, Associate and/or the Lead Senior Graphic Designer.

All COX employees are expected to display aspects of leadership as part of their role within the practice, particularly in their interactions with stakeholders, clients, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• 2+ years' experience.
• Artistic or architectural sensibility, skill, and experience desirable.
• Ability to maintain a high-level production quality and output to be competitive in bidding arena on all COX projects both nationally and internationally.
• Ability to maintain quality control in print production, typography, and proof reading.
• Good production knowledge when it comes to implementing graphic design concepts.
• Adept at taking job briefs.
• Developed problem solving abilities where each design job is not seen in isolation but in conjunction with all current job deadlines.
• Ability to efficiently work backwards from a deadline and allow for final production time.
• Ability to handle urgent requests and client demands.
• Work under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
• Expert at Adobe Creative Suite.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Qualifications required:

• Diploma, Degree or higher; or equivalent years' experience.
