Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a dedicated professional to lead the Georges River Litter Prevention Roadmap, working with multiple councils, government agencies and the community to improve litter outcomes and waterway health across the Georges River catchment.

You will monitor, report and build capacity for litter prevention across partners, using evidence to drive behavioural change and achieve targets while engaging diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualifications in Environmental Science, Education, Natural Resource Management or a related field or relevant industry or extensive job-related experience.
• Current Class C Drivers licence
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate projects
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Experience in communicating, consulting and liaising effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work, within strict deadlines and with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate and work with multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge and understanding of litter behaviour change principals and current resource recovery issues

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Georges River Litter Prevention Roadmap, collaborating with member councils, government agencies and community stakeholders to deliver litter prevention and waterway health outcomes across the Georges River catchment.
• Support litter prevention with monitoring, data collection and reporting, build litter prevention capability across member councils, and identify opportunities for community participation and behaviour change initiatives.
• Use evidence and monitoring results to inform effective litter prevention programs, strengthen stakeholder partnerships and support the achievement of local and regional litter reduction targets.
