Job summary

Darebin City Council is seeking a Team Leader for Hard Rubbish & Litter Prevention to lead the day-to-day delivery of the council's hard rubbish collection, litter prevention and city amenity services.

You will provide strong leadership to operational staff, oversee contractor performance and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with community expectations, driving improvements and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in operational, waste management or field-based environments.
• Knowledge of hard rubbish, litter prevention, waste management or city amenity services.
• Strong contractor management and service delivery experience.
• Sound understanding of compliance, safety and risk management requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving capability.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support a team of operational employees.
• Oversee the delivery of hard rubbish collection and litter prevention programs.
• Coordinate responses to illegal dumping, graffiti and amenity issues.
• Manage service schedules, contractor performance and operational priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement and customer-focused service outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, legislative and Council requirements.
• Monitor service performance and provide operational reporting and advice.
