Job summary

Dubbo Regional Council is seeking a Water and Wastewater Treatment Assistant to join the Water Supply and Sewerage branch. The role blends outdoor and office work to ensure safe, reliable drinking water and properly treated sewage for our region.

You will assist in operating treatment plants, managing reservoirs and pumping stations, and perform general maintenance and dosing procedures. The position offers a 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight and a salary between $65,350 and $75,947 plus

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in water treatment operations would be an advantage.
• Experience in the operation of powered and unpowered hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the effective, efficient operation of treatment plants and managing reservoirs, booster stations and sewer pumping stations to ensure they are of high quality and meet requirements
• Assisting in general maintenance and operations of water and sewer treatment facilities.
• Assist in the batching and dosing procedures.
• Maintaining the yards and enclosures at water treatment facilities.
