Banana Shire Council in Central Queensland is seeking an experienced water truck operator to support road maintenance, dust suppression and vegetation management across multiple sites. You will conduct pre-start checks, perform routine servicing and keep accurate records of plant movements and inspections.

The role requires a Queensland HR licence, RIIMPO326E Water Vehicle Operations certification and a White/Blue Card, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a labour‑intensive

Qualifications

• Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices.
• Experience operating heavy vehicles in maintenance/construction environments.
• RIIMPO326E Water Vehicle Operations certification.
• HR class manual driver’s licence (Queensland).
• General Safety Induction – White or Blue Card.

Responsabilités

• Operate and control a water truck safely for roads, maintenance and dust suppression.
• Provide high‑quality plant operation services across council locations.
• Inspect, service, clean and adjust plant as per specs and procedures.
• Monitor performance, report faults and maintain logs of movements and inspections.
• Read schedules, site instructions and safety documentation.
