Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services is seeking a Trainee Water Treatment Plant Operator at the Springvale Mount Piper Power Station Water Treatment Facility near Lithgow. You’ll be trained to operate and maintain critical water treatment equipment that supports power generation while pursuing recognised operator competencies.

You’ll join a supportive team with structured development, advancing through training to qualified operator status in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to follow procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to identify hazards and report incidents.
• Reliable and punctual with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Learn routine plant operations and daily inspections.
• Perform basic laboratory testing and build confidence to test independently.
• Support compliance-related sampling and testing.
• Assist with work orders in maintenance system.
• Learn control room/SCADA basics.
• Training in solids handling, including filter press operation.
• Learn the Permit to Work (PTW) system and lock-out procedures.
• Support site inspections and audits.
