Job summary

Ground Support Systems (Aust) invites applications for a Water Treatment Technician based in Queensland. You will support field projects, operate and maintain water treatment plant, and contribute to reporting and compliance.

You will conduct sampling and testing, calibrate instruments and respond to field issues, with a focus on safety and quality in a demanding civil construction environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in a water treatment/desalination/wastewater role.
• Strong customer service ethic and problem solving.
• Capable of handling chemicals safely and working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Commission, monitor and decommission field water treatment plant.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment.
• Conduct field and laboratory sampling and data reporting.
• Calibrate probes and instruments.
• Attend emergency call outs and submit weekly reports.

GSS Hire specialises in Dewatering and Trench Shoring for civil and infrastructure projects.

We are inviting applications from experienced person to join our QLD branch as a Water Treatment Technician. The role involves providing business support within the organisation as well as various projects in civil construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, monitor and Decommission field-based water treatment plant including maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving any technical issue that arises.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment
• Conduct field and laboratory sampling, testing, and interpretation of data for reporting.
• Calibration of probes and instruments.
• Attend emergency call outs
• Submission of weekly reporting and OHS documents to clients.

Skills & Experience

• 3 - 5 years experience in similar role (Water Treatment/ Desalination/ Waste Water Treatment)
• You have a strong customer service ethic and enjoy solving problems
• Capable of handling chemicals safely
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Competent to work in high-pressured environments and meet deadlines.
