Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Water Treatment Operations Technician to support the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities in Williamtown, NSW, with field work across Australia. The role is hands-on, combining plant operation, maintenance and troubleshooting with involvement in construction and system modifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in water treatment operations or related technical environment.
• Trade or technical experience in mechanical/electrical areas is highly regarded.
• Strong hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process equipment.
• Good computer skills including Word, Excel and email.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Australian Driver's Licence required.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia.
• First Aid, Forklift, Working at Heights and Chemical Handling are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain water treatment plants and related infrastructure.
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process equipment to diagnose issues.
• Operate treatment processes using plant HMI/SCADA systems.
• Collect water samples and coordinate lab analyses and reporting.
• Support construction, commissioning and modification of systems.
• Coordinate subcontractors and plan work to meet project needs.
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality standards; report incidents.
