Job summary

Orange City Council is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Engineer to join our Water and Sewer section. In this role you will optimise water and sewage treatment processes to meet compliance goals and manage capital improvement projects.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, has SCADA knowledge, and can drive improvements within a regulated environment. The position is permanent full-time (35 hours per week), with hybrid working arrangements and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (ideally process or chemical) or Science.
• Current Class C driver’s licence.
• SCADA knowledge and understanding of water/wastewater systems.
• Experience in water or wastewater treatment projects, especially planning phase.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and pumping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Optimize water and wastewater treatment processes to meet compliance goals.
• Manage capital improvement projects within the Water and Sewer section.

Job description

Orange City Council is looking for a skilled Water Treatment Engineer to join our Water and Sewer section. In this role you will be a key player in optimising our water and sewage treatment processes to meet compliance goals and manage capital improvement projects.

We are searching for someone who is ready to make a positive impact. To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (ideally process or chemical), Science, or associated discipline
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or the ability to acquire
• Current Class C driver’s licence
• Experience working in a water or wastewater treatment environment relating to process improvement and optimisation
• Established knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater treatment and pumping procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of SCADA control systems
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment projects, particularly the planning phase
