Independent Monitoring Consultants Pty Ltd – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Water Sampling Technician for a full-time, ASAP-start role. The position is remote with daily travel to sites across Melbourne to conduct scheduled sampling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine water sampling of cooling towers per standards.
• Record, label, and document samples for laboratory submission.

Job Opportunity: Water Sampling Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Water Technician to join our team. This role focuses exclusively on sampling and monitoring cooling tower water systems, no servicing, maintenance, or repair work is required. This position is remote with daily travel to sites across Melbourne to conduct scheduled sampling. Ensuring accurate reporting, sample handling, and preparation for the following day’s work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine water sampling of cooling towers in accordance with regulatory and company standards
• Accurately record, label, and document samples for laboratory submission
• Follow proper safety and hygiene procedures when accessing and working around cooling towers
• Maintain sampling equipment and ensure all tools are kept clean and in good working orderCommunicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding site access, schedules, and any observations
• Assist with reporting related to water quality results (if required)

Requirements:

• Experience in water sampling, Environmental monitoring, Water treatment or a similar field (preferred but not essential – training provided)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow set procedures
• Comfortable working at heights or near industrial equipment (where applicable)
• Good communication skills and a professional manner
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to obtain a Police check and White card
