WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Water Regulation Specialist (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Customer Assessments & Approvals team.
Reporting to the Water Regulation Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective water regulation outcomes across NSW. This position involves assessing a diverse range of water management applications, and responding to customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism, sound judgement and technical expertise. A key component of the role includes undertaking field inspections across NSW, providing valuable on-the-ground insights to support regulatory assessments and decision-making. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be a trusted advisor and mentor within the Water Regulation team, sharing your expertise to support colleagues, build capability and promote consistent, high-quality regulatory outcomes. You will contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely and customer-focused assessment and approval services, while ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements.

Note: Preferred locations for this role is Nowra, Albury, Hunter Hub (Beresfield) or Narrabri. However, we are open to considering having the successful candidate based anywhere in NSW where we have a WaterNSW office.

The Water Regulation Specialist is responsible for managing complex customer queries, assessment and approval requests and complaints, whilst supporting and coaching others within the water regulation team to ensure WaterNSW can deliver exceptional customer service through the provision of accurate, timely and consistent assessment and approval services whilst maintaining compliance with legislation and regulatory guidelines; whilst putting safety first.
WaterNSW operates the state's dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution - for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community.
