Job summary

MidCoast Council invites applicants for a Trainee Water Network Construction role in Tuncurry. You will join the Water Project Delivery team to gain hands-on experience in constructing, maintaining and renewing water and sewer networks, supporting essential community services.

The program leads to a nationally recognised Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and provides mentorship, practical site exposure, and pathways to a full-time career in the water sector.

Qualifications

• Interest in water network construction and maintenance.
• Willingness to undertake a formal traineeship and assessments.
• Reliability and dedication demonstrated through studies or work.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and renew water and wastewater networks and assets.
• Support construction, alteration and renewal of water infrastructure.
• Develop practical skills in plant operation, maintenance and repair of pumping stations and distribution networks.
• Respond to customer and emergency calls and document information.
• Complete formal training and contribute to teamwork and continuous improvement.
