Job summary

Lismore City Council is seeking an experienced Manager Engineering (Water) to lead strategic planning, design and delivery of water, sewerage and urban stormwater infrastructure. You will oversee budgets, compliance, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, reliable services for our community.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Chartered Engineer status or eligibility, and extensive water operations experience.

Qualifications

• Senior-level civil/environmental engineering leadership and planning skills.
• Experience in water, sewerage and stormwater systems.
• Strong knowledge of WSAA, NSW EPA regulations and Australian guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams in strategy, planning and capital delivery.
• Develop infrastructure strategies for growing communities and service continuity.
• Oversee planning, design and delivery of water, sewerage and stormwater projects.
• Provide technical leadership for long-term planning and rigorous construction oversight.
• Manage budgets, procurement, contracts, and contractor performance for water assets.
• Coordinate engineering input into development applications and subdivisions.
• Develop policies and service improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
