Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a reliable Pump Station Attendant to join our Wastewater Treatment team in Hervey Bay. You will assist with operation, inspection and routine maintenance of sewerage pump stations and monitor performance.

This role is outdoor, hands-on and requires safe work practices, basic chemical handling and documentation using our systems. You will work with the team to ensure reliable wastewater transfer across the Fraser Coast.

Qualifications

• Mandatory safety-focused approach and ability to work outdoors.
• Experience with monitoring, telemetry or operational control systems preferred.
• Proven teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, inspection and routine maintenance of sewerage pump stations.
• Monitor pump station performance using SCADA/telemetry and report faults.
• Perform routine cleaning of pump station wet wells and dry wells.
• Follow safe work practices, including chemical handling and hazard management.
• Record activities and timesheets in Council systems.
• Collaborate with team to improve service delivery.
