Job summary

Randstad Australia is seeking experienced HR Drivers for local council waste contracts in Melbourne. Join a well-maintained fleet and stable day shifts from 8AM to 5PM, with short-term contracts and on-call relief.

Operate side-loader trucks, perform pre-start checks, and follow safety procedures while navigating local routes. Start dates late August, HR licence required, and local government experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licence: Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating side-loader waste collection trucks.
• Strong commitment to WHS, site risk assessment, and safe heavy vehicle operations.
• Availability to start end of August.

Responsibilities

• Operate side-loader collection vehicles for residential wheelie bin services (kerbside waste, recycling, and organic green waste).
• Conduct daily vehicle pre-start checks, defect reporting, and maintain fleet cleanliness.
• Navigate established council collection routes safely and efficiently using onboard technology/maps.
• Adhere strictly to council safety procedures, route schedules, and pedestrian safety protocols.
