Job summary

Monash City Council is seeking a Waste Services Operator to rotate between operating a front-end loader, forklift and material handler, delivering excellent customer service while keeping the yard clean. The role includes duties such as collecting dumped rubbish and operating a hook truck within the Waste Services team of Sustainable Monash.

Applicants should have a medium-rigid licence, with heavy-rigid licence preferred, and hold high risk work and loader/excavator tickets.

Qualifications

• Medium-rigid licence is required.
• Heavy-rigid licence preferred.
• High risk work licence.
• Front end loader ticket.
• Excavator ticket.
• Satisfactory National Police Check and other pre-employment checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader, forklift and material handler in daily duties.
• Deliver excellent customer service and keep the yard clean and tidy.
• Collect dumped rubbish and operate a hook truck when required.
• Work as part of the Waste Services team within Sustainable Monash.
• Support the team with flexible duties as needed.

Join our Waste Services team within Sustainable Monash, reporting to the Team Leader Recycling and Waste Centre. You'll be part of a broader team that also includes Waste Customer Experience and Asset Cleansing.

About the Position

In this hands-on role, you’ll rotate between operating a front-end loader, forklift and material handler, delivering excellent customer service and keeping the yard clean and tidy. You'll take pride in your work and the presentation of the centre, with duties that may also include collecting dumped rubbish and operating a hook truck.
