Job summary

Clarence Valley Council is seeking a proactive Contract Manager to support the delivery of waste services, including regional landfill operations, transfer stations and domestic collection. Reporting to the Waste & Sustainability Manager, you will manage contracts, procurement, and service performance to ensure cost-effective and compliant outcomes for the community.

• Experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial roles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage priorities across governance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage waste service contracts to deliver performance, compliance and value for money.
• Provide contract management and commercial advice for informed decision-making.
• Lead procurement processes including tenders, evaluations, and negotiations.
• Collaborate with contractors to drive accountability and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, WHS and environmental requirements.
• Monitor budgets, risks, timelines and service quality.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across services and contracts.
