Job summary

Programmed GO is looking for a Waste Operator to support the Muswellbrook Waste & Recycling Facility. This short-term role runs immediately through Christmas, with a minimum of three days per week and potential weekend work.

You’ll interact with customers, operate the weighbridge, handle transactions, and help direct waste streams to maximise recycling. You don’t need to be a waste expert—just bring a safety-first mindset, basic computer skills, and a willingness to work outdoors in all

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and a friendly demeanour.
• Basic computer skills including data entry.
• Cash handling or retail experience.
• Safety-first mindset and willingness to work outdoors.
• Driver's Licence Class C or higher.
• White Card or ability to obtain.
• Experience in waste industry or operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operating the public weighbridge and recording customer loads.
• Welcoming customers with a friendly attitude and helping them dispose of materials correctly.
• Processing EFTPOS and cash transactions.
• Issuing receipts and completing daily reconciliations.
• Identifying waste streams and directing customers accordingly.
• Maximising recycling and resource recovery opportunities.
• Assisting customers with mulch, woodchip and Reuse Shop purchases.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy facility.
• Operating plant and equipment (where qualified).
• Supporting site safety and security procedures.
• Following WHS requirements and contributing to a safe workplace.

We have a short term role starting immediately working through to Christmas – minimum 3 days per, occasional weekend work may be required.

We're on the hunt for a Waste Operator to support the Waste & Recycling Facility in Muswellbrook. This isn't your average \"sit behind a desk all day\" role. One minute you'll be helping a local customer find the right waste stream, the next you'll be operating a weighbridge, and keeping the site tidy

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a waste expert already, but you'll ideally have:

• Strong customer service skills


• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry)


• Cash handling or retail experience


• A safety-first mindset


• A willingness to work outdoors in all conditions


• A Class C Driver's Licence or higher


• White Card (or ability to obtain)


• Waste industry or operational experience highly regarded
