Job summary

Council Jobs in Queensland is seeking a hands-on labourer for landfill and transfer station site works. You will operate heavy vehicles and plant, perform routine inspections, collect waste and recyclables, and support customer requests while maintaining safety and reporting through daily write-ups.

Compulsory licences include a Queensland C-class licence and Construction White Card; desirable certificates for heavy equipment; ability to work weekends and in a team.

Qualifications

• Compulsory: C-class licence and White/Card safety induction.
• Desirable: heavy equipment certificates and HR licence.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy vehicles and plant.

Responsibilities

• Undertake landfill and transfer station site works.
• Perform labouring duties as required.
• Operate various equipment and plant at designated waste sites.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report faults.
• Prepare daily written reports of status of works undertaken.
• Collect recyclables from off-site locations and report issues.
• Respond to internal and external customer requests as required.
• Collect commercial waste from premises per schedule and service specs.
• Operate weighbridge and collect payments from landfill customers.
• Contribute to public relations and liaise with clients and authorities.
