Job summary

Banana Shire Council is seeking a proactive Labourer/Operator to support landfill and transfer station activities across Brisbane region. The role involves driving, heavy-vehicle operation, basic administration, and daily site tasks at waste facilities.

Applicants should hold a C class license and White Card, with desirable HR and waste-plant tickets. The position requires weekend availability and compliance with WHS policies.

Qualifications

• Compulsory C class driver’s license and White Card (General Safety Induction).
• Experience operating heavy vehicles and plant is preferred.
• Demonstrated labouring experience and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake landfill and transfer station site works.
• Perform labouring duties as required.
• Operate equipment and plant at waste sites.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report faults.
• Maintain vehicles per Council procedures.
• Collect recyclables and payments from landfill customers.
• Contribute to public relations and customer service.
• Attend toolbox and team meetings.
• Undertake routine administrative tasks as required.
