Job summary

DEECA in Melbourne is seeking a Program Officer to help deliver programs and projects addressing waste service disruptions during emergencies. You will contribute to program delivery, stakeholder engagement and reporting, and prepare briefings to support emergency management across mitigation, preparedness, response, relief and recovery.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting policy, program or project development and delivery is desirable.
• Knowledge of emergency management principles, frameworks and practices is desirable.
• Experience undertaking engagement and collaboration with stakeholders is desirable.
• Knowledge of the waste and resource recovery sector, including waste service delivery and operational considerations, is desirable.
• Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field are desirable

Responsibilities

• The Program Officer supports the delivery of programs, projects and initiatives that address waste service disruptions during emergencies.
• The Program Officer contributes to program delivery, stakeholder engagement and reporting activities, the preparation of briefings and advice and supports emergency management functions across mitigation, preparedness, response, relief and recovery.
