Job summary

MidCoast Council in NSW invites applications for an Education and Behaviour Change Lead (FOGO) to design and deliver a community education and behaviour change program for the region's FOGO transition. You will lead multi-channel engagement, manage timelines and stakeholders, and mentor the FOGO Community Education Officer to improve outcomes across the MidCoast.

This full-time, fixed-term role is based in Yalawanyi Ganya, Taree, with relocation support and a salary circa $98,300–$108,100 plus

Qualifications

• Qualifications in project management, communications, community engagement, sustainability, waste education or related discipline.
• Experience in developing and leading community engagement or behaviour change programs.
• Strong project management skills coordinating multiple priorities and delivering outcomes.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience planning and delivering face-to-face engagement activities.
• Leadership experience including coaching and mentoring staff through change.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

Education and Behaviour Change Lead (FOGO)

Location: MidCoast NSW

The Opportunity

MidCoast Council is delivering one of the region's most significant waste and sustainability initiatives through the introduction of Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) services. We are seeking an experienced Education & Behaviour Change Lead to design and drive the community engagement, education and behaviour change program that will support this important transition and help residents understand service changes, improve correct bin use and maximise environmental outcomes.

Reporting to the Communications, Engagement and Marketing Manager, you will lead a high-profile project that combines behaviour change program development, project management, stakeholder engagement and community education. Working closely with internal teams, community stakeholders and external partners, you will play a key role in delivering lasting environmental and community benefits across the MidCoast region.

In this role, you will:

• Design and deliver a multi-channel FOGO community education, engagement and behaviour change program.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, reporting and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful implementation.
• Design and deliver community engagement activities including workshops, events, pop-ups and stakeholder briefings across the MidCoast region.
• Lead and support the FOGO Community Education Officer while using data and community insights to continuously improve outcomes.

What you'll bring

Salary: Commencing salary circa $98,300 - $108,100 p.a. plus superannuation. (dependent on skills and experience)

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Full Time, 2 years Fixed Term contract.
