Job summary

Banyule City Council's Operations Department seeks a dedicated Solo Operator to manage kerbside and commercial waste collection autonomously using side loaders from the Bellfield depot. You will maintain safety standards and ensure equipment is kept in good condition.

The role is full-time, on-site, working 38 hours per week with a 5.15am start, and requires an HR licence and proven prior experience in waste collection across household, parks, and commercial streams.

Qualifications

• HR licence required and safe vehicle operation experience.
• Experience with side loader and rear loader waste collection.
• Experience collecting household, commercial and parks waste.
• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices.
• Commitment to high customer service and ethical standards.
• Proficient in two-way radio communications.

Responsibilities

• Collect kerbside waste in a safe and friendly manner.
• Collect public waste in parks and commercial waste.
• Help achieve waste reduction and recovery targets and environmental goals.
• Carry out routine operator maintenance on trucks per regulations.
