Job summary

Banyule City Council is seeking a Solo Operator to oversee kerbside collection of household waste, recycling, organics and related services in the Banyule municipality. You will autonomously operate a Side Loader with emphasis on safety, quality and vehicle upkeep.

This full-time role runs 38 hours per week with a 5:15am start. A Heavy Rigid (HR) license and WHS awareness are essential for joining our team and delivering essential waste services to the community.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy vehicle waste collection equipment including side loaders.
• Experience collecting household garbage, recycling, organics, parks waste and commercial waste.
• Commitment to Work Health and Safety practices.
• Proven safe and competent operation of refuse collection vehicles.
• Strong customer service ethic and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Collect kerbside waste in a safe and friendly manner.
• Pick up public waste in parks and collect commercial waste.
• Assist Council to achieve waste reduction and recovery targets.
• Carry out regular operator maintenance to trucks per legislative requirements.
