Job summary

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking a Waste Collection Officer to join the Waste Management Centre Team in Bathurst. The role primarily drives and operates a waste collection vehicle, gathering household waste in line with council policies and relevant regulations.

The position reports to the Waste Collection Team Leader, is permanent full-time, 38 hours per week with an RDO every three weeks, and requires a HR Driver's Licence, basic mechanical knowledge, and competency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• HR Driver's Licence required.
• Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge.
• Proven experience operating tipping trucks.
• Proven experience operating lifting equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Strong commitment to quality customer service with a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a waste collection vehicle.
• Collect waste from households across Bathurst.
• Undertake duties at the Waste Management Centre as directed.

Job description

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a Waste Collection Officer to join the Waste Management Centre Team.

The Waste Collection Officer's main purpose is to drive and operate a waste collection vehicle, collecting waste from households in Bathurst, consistent with applicable statutes, regulations and council policies. The position will also be required to undertake duties relevant to the role within the Waste Management Centre as directed.

This position will report directly to the Waste Collection Team Leader.

Position Summary

• HR Driver's Licence
• Demonstrated basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge
• Proven experience in operating tipping trucks
• Proven experience in the operation of lifting equipment
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
• A strong commitment to quality customer service with a culture of continuous improvement.
