Job summary

The Hygiene Co in Woodville North, SA is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to supervise warehouse operations, optimise stock and inbound/outbound processes, and coach a small team. This full-time role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced SME environment.

Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, you will drive accurate stock management, layout optimisation, and cost-effective logistics while upholding WHS standards and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores or warehouse role, preferably within manufacturing, transport or logistics.
• Current Forklift licence (LF) and experience operating warehouse equipment.
• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts and stocktakes.
• Plan efficient layout, storage and material-handling practices to maximise space and productivity.
• Ensure inbound and outbound goods meet quality, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Lead, train and mentor warehouse staff to maintain high performance and safety standards.
• Plan and allocate daily workloads, optimising warehouse labour needs.
• Support WHS compliance and safe operation of equipment.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Team Leader to join the dynamic team at The Hygiene Co in Woodville North, South Australia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including: the inbound receipt of goods; outbound execution of sales orders and general deliveries; onsite waste management disposal/collection.

This role combines ability to plan, with hands-on execution, ensuring efficient inventory management, optimisation of transport/freight cost management, safe working practices, and continuous improvement across warehouse and general store activities.

Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader will supervise other stores team members, optimising space and workflows, and ensures the warehouse supports the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts and full stocktakes.
• Implement efficient layout, storage and material-handling practices to maximise space & productivity.
• Ensure inbound and outbound goods meet quality, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, performing cycle counts and audits.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and supplier delivery issues.
• Produce monthly operational freight performance reports for management.
• Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff to maintain high performance and safety standards.
• Plan and allocate daily workloads, optimising warehouse labour needs.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture, leading by example the company values.
• Ensure the warehouse complies with WHS legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
• Maintain safe operation of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting devices; and manage cyclic maintenance adherence.
• Manage returns, warranty items, and reverse logistics processes.

What we’re looking for

• Demonstrated experience in a similar stores or warehouse role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industry
• Good understanding of inventory control, warehouse workflows, and WHS requirements.
• Current Forklift licence (LF) required and experience operating warehouse equipment.
• Competence with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office & Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in small, hands-on team environments.

Desirable

• Cert III in Warehouse Operations
