Job summary

Bidfood is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Team Leader at our Hoppers Crossing branch. You will lead up to 10 staff, oversee receival, replenishment, assembly, loading and delivery activities, and ensure product integrity through safe, efficient operations.

The role is physical with some heavy lifting and requires a proactive, hands-on approach. You will manage rosters, coach staff, monitor budgets, and liaise with the Operations Manager on process changes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current forklift licence with high reach experience.
• Experience in warehousing and distribution management with inventory control.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with internal systems and computer literacy.
• Experience rostering within budget constraints.
• Understanding of HACCP, WHS and HR.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment service and maintenance schedules.
• Coach, mentor and manage performance of team.
• Control costs by minimising damages, wastage and overtime.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager on staffing and processes.
• Promote safe working procedures and ensure policies are followed.
• Audit HACCP-based food safety systems and quality controls.
• Maintain truck run schedules and despatch records.

We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable professional to fill the fulltime role of Warehouse at our Hoppers Crossing branch.

About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to manage a team of up to 10 people and organise, supervise and control all work activity relating to receival, replenishment, assembly, loading and delivery of products is conducted accurately and product integrity is maintained. This is a physical position with some heavy lifting.

Duties:

• Maintain all equipment service and maintenance schedules
• Coach, mentor and execute performance management as required
• Control and reduce warehouse expenses by minimising damages, wastage and overtime
• Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding labour requirements and work process changes
• Promote safe working procedures and ensure policies are implemented and adhered to
• Conduct internal audits of the Quality and HACCP based food systems
• Maintain truck run schedules and despatched truck registers

Skills and Experience:

• Current Forklift licence with high reach experience (essential)
• Proven experience in warehousing and distribution management and inventory control
• Exceptional time management and communication skills
• Computer literacy, including the ability to quickly learn internal systems
• Experience managing rosters and resources within budget constraints
• An understanding of HACCP, WHS and HR
• Able to provide leadership and motivation to a team
