Job summary

Highgate is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead the South Australian Distribution Centre. This is a hands-on, on‑the‑floor role focused on building teams, improving processes, and driving safety outcomes.

You will report to the National Supply Chain Manager and lead a small team, ensuring safe, efficient operations while developing capability and supporting broader supply chain goals. The role is highly visible and impact‑driven, with a focus on continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Supply Chain Manager, you will take ownership of the South Australian Distribution Centre and lead a small team of warehouse employees.

You'll be responsible for ensuring warehouse operations run safely and efficiently while developing team capability, improving processes and supporting broader supply chain objectives.

This role is highly visible and hands‑on. You'll spend less time behind a desk and more time engaging with the team, solving operational challenges and driving positive change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse professionals
• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, put‑away, picking and dispatch
• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and stock control
• Drive safety, quality and compliance initiatives across the site
• Lead continuous improvement and process optimisation projects
• Improve warehouse efficiency, productivity and workflow
• Manage warehouse KPIs and operational performance
• Support workforce planning, training and capability development
• Coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Procurement and Operations teams
• Ensure the warehouse is positioned to support future growth

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role
• Strong people leadership skills with a genuine passion for coaching and developing teams
• Solid warehouse operations and inventory management experience
• Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and operational best practice
• Experience implementing structure, processes and accountability within teams
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities
• Forklift licence highly regarded
• Exposure to WMS and warehouse technology platforms beneficial
• Supply Chain, Logistics, Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement qualifications highly regarded
