Job summary

NSW Health at Westmead Hospital invites applications for a Wardsperson to support patient care and safety in a dynamic hospital environment.

You will assist with transfers, mobility and everyday clinical tasks, work with nursing staff, and help maintain a safe and comfortable patient experience across shifts. This permanent position is offered as either full-time or part-time hours, up to 38 per week, with pro rata arrangements for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as wardsperson or patient care in an acute care setting.
• Ability to work independently with good time management and prioritisation.
• Knowledge of Infection Control and WHS standards, including manual handling.
• Strong communication and teamwork, with ability to follow directions from staff.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster at Westmead Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities such as rolling, turning, bathing, and mobilising.
• Safely transport patients by bed or wheelchair throughout the hospital.
• Operate relevant equipment and maintain safety standards.
• Provide courteous service to patients, staff and visitors.
• Contribute to quality improvement and a positive team culture.
