NSW Health at Westmead Hospital seeks a Wardsperson Co-Ordinator to lead wardsperson services, ensuring high-quality care while managing resources, performance and priorities.

You will coach supervisors, monitor KPIs and drive safety, continuous improvement and patient-centred care across the department. The role requires roster flexibility and leadership across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in management or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills to ensure high-quality customer services.
  • Strategic planning and management skills with ability to lead complex change.
  • Experience in budgeting and analysing financial data for a large department.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.

  • Lead day-to-day wardsperson operations in a busy hospital environment.

  • Monitor KPIs, service outcomes and operational activity, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage service issues, complaints, incidents and stakeholder requests, using feedback to strengthen service delivery.
  • Champion quality, safety, risk management, training and continuous improvement across the department.

What you'll be doing
As Wardsperson Co-Ordinator, you’ll provide operational leadership and strategic direction to wardsperson services, ensuring high-quality service delivery while managing resources, performance and competing priorities.

  • Coordinate daily wardsperson operations, resources, equipment and service requirements within budget.
  • Lead, coach and support supervisors, team leaders and staff to achieve service and performance objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs, service outcomes and operational activity, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage service issues, complaints, incidents and stakeholder requests, using feedback to strengthen service delivery.
  • Champion quality, safety, risk management, training and continuous improvement across the department.

License: Class 1A non-restricted

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in management and/or significant experience in management of a service/operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, particularly in managing staff resources, to ensure provision of high-quality focused customer services.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and management skills and the capacity to lead the development and implementation of a complex and visionary strategic integrated action plans designed to address key challenges and experience in leading major change.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyse financial data for a large department.
  • Proven ability to direct interpersonal communication, negotiation, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, HPEC, Health Roster, and use of financial management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives, clinicians and managers within a large complex environment, with a proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust.
  • Ability to work seven-day rotating roster and to work in various locations/shifts to meet the demand of services.
