Job summary

Aurecon in Perth is seeking an Environmental Approvals Consultant to support environmental approvals and planning across major infrastructure and government projects in Western Australia and beyond. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to prepare high-quality reports, navigate WA and Commonwealth regulations, and contribute to approvals strategies while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Planning or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2-4 years’ experience in environmental or planning approvals, environmental impact assessment or environmental management.
• Knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation, approvals processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience preparing high-quality technical reports and client deliverables.
• Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Eligibility for Australian Defence Force Security Clearance.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of environmental and planning approvals across a range of projects in Western Australia and nationally.
• Conduct desktop assessments of web-based databases to identify environmental constraints and impacts.
• Prepare environmental, planning and technical approval documentation to meet regulatory requirements and project timeframes.
• Contribute to environmental impact assessments, approvals strategies and due diligence activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify approvals risks and support successful project delivery.
