Job summary

Citi Australia is seeking a Senior Application Programmer to lead the design, development and deployment of Cash Equities applications within a robust SDLC framework. You will collaborate with global tech teams to ensure scalable, compliant software solutions.

The role requires extensive Java experience, microservices know-how, and a strong grasp of trading workflows. Expect close interaction with business units and remote teams across time zones in a large financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Java development experience.
• Experience with SDLC and multi-team coordination.
• Knowledge of stock market trading and FIX protocol.
• Experience with microservices architecture and SpringBoot.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Development and maintenance of a suite of Cash Equities applications.
• Design solutions, coordinate delivery, investigate production incidents, participate in L2/L3 support activities.
• Develop technical solutions to meet business requirements taking into account recommended technologies, non-functional requirements, internal policies and procedures.
• Participate in all elements of SDLC from gathering business requirements, analysis, code reviews, testing, deploying applications
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers and other local and global technology team members
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the local business
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
