Job summary

Macquarie University Health is seeking a Volunteers, Consumer Partnership and Experience Manager to lead an established volunteer program and to partner with the Consumer Advisory Committee. You will translate consumer experiences into service improvements across the precinct, while collaborating with clinical, operational and academic teams.

The role focuses on governance, policy maintenance, and driving engagement initiatives to ensure consumer voices shape care planning and redesign.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in health, social services, management or related field.
• Proven experience establishing consumer participation structures or volunteer programs.
• Experience designing roles, recruiting, onboarding and developing staff or volunteers.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and rostering systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the volunteer program end to end: strategy, recruitment, onboarding and daily coordination.
• Maintain volunteer policies, scope-of-practice and escalation pathways with WHS and safety ties.
• Coordinate volunteer training, education, supervision and recognition activities.
• Support the Consumer Advisory Committee and manage engagement with its members.
• Develop broader consumer engagement mechanisms aligned with the Consumer Partnership Framework.
• Apply experience-based co-design methods and report insights to governance committees.
