Dementia Australia is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator for a full-time, permanent role based in North Ryde, NSW. You will report to the National Volunteering Manager and drive volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement across the organisation.

Key duties include managing records in Better Impact, promoting volunteering opportunities and supporting major events like Memory Walk & Jog, while collaborating with internal teams to deliver seamless volunteer services.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate or tertiary qualification in volunteer coordination or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating volunteers.
• Experience with Better Impact Volunteer Management system including rostering, communications and reporting.

About the role

Full-time permanent position based in North Ryde, NSW. Reporting directly to the National Volunteering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

• Coordinating the recruitment, assessment, onboarding and ongoing engagement of volunteers across Dementia Australia
• Managing volunteer records, communications and reporting through the Better Impact volunteer database
• Building positive relationships with volunteers and promoting contemporary best practice in volunteer management
• Promoting volunteering opportunities through local portals, recruitment platforms and other channels
• Coordinating recruitment and onboarding of volunteers for allocated Memory Walk & Jog events
• Managing volunteer communications, documentation, inductions and on-the-day support for flagship and regional events
• Collaborating with internal teams and Volunteer Coordinators to plan event logistics, briefings and volunteer requirements
• Supporting volunteer recognition, engagement and appreciation while contributing to broader volunteering projects and administration tasks

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

• Relevant Diploma, Certificate or Tertiary qualification skill and/or experience in volunteer coordination preferably in a related non-for-profit environment
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with volunteers in a Coordinator role
• Experience using Better Impact Volunteer Management system including administration managing Enterprise and State levels, rostering, communications and reporting
• Proven experience in working as part of a team as well as demonstrated ability to work autonomously
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan ahead whilst still being able to adjust to constantly changing work priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a geographically diverse environment
• Available to work weekend of events and occasional night as required
