Job summary

Werribee Secondary College, part of the Department of Education Victoria, is seeking a classroom teacher to deliver high-quality teaching across Year 7–12, including IB DP exposure. You will plan, deliver and assess learning, engage in professional growth, and contribute to a dynamic school community in the Wyndham precinct.

The role emphasises collaboration with peers, data-informed practice, and the integration of high-impact teaching strategies to support student growth and outcomes.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• SC2: Demonstrated experience planning/high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• SC3: Experience in monitoring/assessing learning and using data to inform teaching.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal/communication skills and ability to collaborate with school community.
• SC5: Reflective practice and commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
• Undertake other classroom duties as needed within salary range and experience.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Support and mentor student teachers where applicable.
