Job summary

St Joseph’s College Hunters Hill is seeking an enthusiastic Visual Arts Teacher for a 0.5 FTE, fixed-term contract for the 2027 academic year. The role requires experience with the current and new Visual Arts Syllabus, and teaching Stages 4 and 5 with a strong technical skill in drawing and painting across 2D and 3D forms.

You will join a collegial department, deliver engaging, rigorous lessons, and provide feedback to support student growth in artmaking, criticism and history.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Visual Arts to Stage 4 and 5 students.
• Ability to integrate diverse pedagogical approaches, media, technologies and contemporary artistic practices.
• Strong technical skills in drawing and painting; capable of teaching 2D and 3D art forms across all stages.

Responsibilities

• Teach Visual Arts across Stages 4 and 5.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student growth in artmaking, art criticism and art history.
• Foster creative thinking and manage engaging, rigorous learning experiences.
