Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is recruiting a Visiting Medical Officer in Obstetric Medicine for Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. The position is sessional and temporary until June 2029, with applications closing 11 October 2026.

Role involves clinical management under approved privileges, contributing to high-quality obstetric medicine care, and participation in on-call rosters within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current medical practitioner registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians with a sub-specialty in obstetric medicine or other recognised specialty per Health Insurance Act 1973.
• Commitment to high-standard clinical practice in obstetric medicine.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
• Experience teaching and supervising junior medical staff at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Evidence of research, innovation and leadership in obstetric medicine.
• Ability to meet public health objectives, efficient resource use, and participate in LHD services.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rosters and work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical management and treatment of patients within the facility under your care.
• Adhere to clinical privileges and governance for obstetric medicine.
• Collaborate with the obstetric medicine team and other specialties to optimise patient care.
• Participate in on-call rostering as required.
