Job summary

The Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, part of Hunter New England Local Health District, seeks experienced Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice to join its Emergency Department team. The role emphasizes delivering high‑quality clinical care, continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient services, and providing ED and inpatient services for the Armidale community.

Applicants should hold a registrable medical degree, be eligible for Fellowship with RACGP/ACRRM or equivalent overseas

Qualifications

• Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of RACGP/ACRRM or overseas trained pathways, or nearing completion.
• Experience in General Practice with emergency medicine exposure.
• Emergency Life Support course completed or in progress.
• Ability to mentor trainees and participate in clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and emergency department services.
• Provide high quality clinical care to Armidale patients, every time.
• Promote continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services.
• Support and supervise trainees within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to safety, quality improvement and professional development.
