Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District invites applications for two Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice at Singleton District Hospital. The VMO will support emergency department coverage and after-hours care in a rural NSW setting.

The successful candidate will have primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of RACGP/ACRM (or overseas pathways), with demonstrated GP experience and governance involvement. On-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural and on-call services as required.
• Attendance during rostered hours and on-call with clinical handover and supervision.
• Education and research contributions as determined by HNELHD.
• Demonstrated medical expertise with GP experience in General Practice.
• Scholarly approach with ongoing professional development.
• Strong communication skills with patients and staff.
• Collaborative across interdisciplinary teams.
• Leadership and management experience in changing health systems.
• Professional governance and continuous improvement involvement.
• Advocacy for improved individual and societal health.

Responsibilities
