Job summary

Armidale Rural Referral Hospital in Armidale, NSW is seeking an experienced GP Visiting Medical Officer to join its Emergency Department and provide emergency and inpatient medical services. The role offers autonomy within a supportive regional hospital setting and opportunities to work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have current AHPRA registration or eligibility, RACGP/ACRRM fellowship or equivalent, and strong experience in Emergency Medicine,

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration or eligibility for registration.
• Fellowship of RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Strong recent experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Ability to work confidently in a regional Emergency Department.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the provision of emergency and inpatient medical services across the hospital.
• Work alongside experienced Emergency Medicine specialists.
• Provide high-quality clinical care within the Emergency Department.
• Assess and manage a broad range of emergency presentations.
• Provide inpatient medical services where required.
• Support seamless continuity between emergency, inpatient and outpatient care.
• Collaborate with nursing, allied health and specialist teams.
