Banora Point High School is seeking an experienced Teacher Special Education – Vision Itinerant to support students with vision impairments across several NSW schools in the Northern Rivers region. The role is 0.4 FTE and requires a current NSW teaching approval and the ability to travel by car.

You will assess learning needs, adapt the curriculum, teach braille and assistive technologies, and work with families and external agencies to remove barriers to access.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Visual Impairment is required.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of policies supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Experience using braille, assistive technology and iOS apps to support curriculum access.
• Ability to co-develop and monitor personalised learning plans for students with vision impairments.

Responsabilités

• Provide itinerant vision support to students across Northern Rivers region.
• Assess student needs and support curriculum access.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies.
• Deliver professional learning for school staff.
• Travel to regional and rural schools; maintain records.
