Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a part-time Teacher Special Education Vision (Itinerant) for Orange Public School. The 0.600 FTE position involves delivering vision support and inclusive teaching across the Orange/Bathurst and Cowra Districts to diverse learners.

The role requires full approval to teach Visual Impairment (Primary/Secondary) and strong collaboration with families, staff and external agencies. Travel between worksites is expected in regional NSW.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Visual Impairment (Primary) and Visual Impairment (Secondary).
• High level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with capacity to collaborate with students, staff, parents and external agencies.
• Knowledge of disability policies and Indigenous student support protocols in culturally safe environments.
• Experience teaching braille and assistive tech to support curriculum access.

Responsibilities

• Deliver vision support and teaching across Orange/Bathurst and Cowra Districts.
• Co-develop and monitor personalised learning plans for students with visual impairments.
• Work with families and external agencies to support student outcomes.
