Job summary

Marnong Estate in Mickleham, just north of Melbourne, is seeking a hands-on Vineyard Operator to join our growing vineyard team. The role involves day-to-day vineyard works across pruning, harvest and canopy management, operating tractors, and maintaining irrigation and trellising while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year's experience in vineyard operations
• A demonstrated background working in vineyards or a broader agricultural setting
• The ability to move between a wide range of vineyard tasks and get through them efficiently
• Sound working knowledge of vineyard practices, including pruning, harvest and vine maintenance
• Clear communicator, keen to learn and happy to contribute to a close-knit team
• A current C class driver's licence (essential)
• Forklift and loader tickets and a current chemical users certificate would be well regarded
• Current right to work in Australia
• Consents to a pre employment medical

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day vineyard works
• Take part in the seasonal cycle: pruning, shoot and canopy work, and harvest
• Operate tractors for slashing, mulching and spraying
• Monitor trellising and irrigation, carrying out repairs to the irrigation system when needed
• Keep the vineyard and surrounding areas clean, tidy and presentable
• Maintain accurate records and work to established procedures and best practice
• Play your part in a strong, everyday safety culture
