Job summary

Wayfinder is seeking an experienced Vineyard Manager to lead our certified organic vineyard and farm in Wilyabrup, Margaret River. This permanent full-time role focuses on shaping the next chapter of an innovative organic vineyard.

You will guide viticulture during expansion and improvement, prioritising organic standards, soil health and fruit quality. The role sits within a 37-hectare site on a hundred-hectare organic property and reports to the Group Viticulturist.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in viticulture or a related discipline.
• Five or more years’ experience in high-quality viticulture and vineyard management.

Responsibilities

• Manage vineyard operations and viticulture programs, hands-on where needed.
• Lead the vineyard team, including casual and contract labour.
• Manage budgets, development projects, maintenance programs, equipment and reporting.
• Uphold safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment.
• Represent Wayfinder with visitors, trade and industry partners.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Vineyard Manager to join Wayfinder, leading our certified organic vineyard and farm in Wilyabrup, Margaret River. This is a permanent, full-time role for someone who wants to help shape the next chapter of a forward-thinking organic vineyard.

About The Role

You’ll lead quality-focused viticulture at Wayfinder, guiding the vineyard through a period of expansion and improvement while keeping organic standards, soil health and fruit quality at the centre of every decision.

Thirty-seven hectares of vines sit within our hundred-hectare, ACO-certified organic property. We farm organically and sustainably, by choice, because richer soil means better fruit.

Supported by our Group Viticulturist, this is a hands-on role responsible for all vineyard operations and team leadership.

You Will

• Manage vineyard operations and viticulture programs, with hands-on involvement where needed
• Lead the vineyard team, including casual and contract labour
• Manage budgets, development projects, maintenance programs, equipment and reporting
• Uphold safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment
• Represent Wayfinder with visitors, trade and industry partners where required

About You

You’re an experienced viticulturist who balances practical farming with strategic vineyard leadership.

You’ll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in viticulture or a related discipline, with five or more years’ experience in high-quality viticulture and vineyard management
• Team management experience and strong leadership skills
• Experience in organic grape production, or in organics, biodiversity or sustainable farming more broadly
• Strong observational and diagnostic skills across soils, drainage, nutrition and canopy management within an organic system
• Proven ability to manage budgets, reporting and operational planning
• Clear communication skills, with confidence hosting trade, media or industry visitors
• ChemCert chemical handling certificate, or willingness to obtain one quickly
• A valid high-risk forklift licence and driver’s licence
