Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to improve TikTok's video system. You will own reliability for publishing and distribution, manage deployments, monitor incidents, and optimize the global infrastructure.

Responsibilities include capacity planning, incident response, automation, and supporting large events with high traffic. You will troubleshoot distributed systems and work with Linux, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and ELK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming experience in at least one language: C, C++, Java, Python, C# or Go.
• Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems, databases and containers.
• Experience with microservice architectures and troubleshooting in large distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis and ELK.
• Experience building solutions on AWS, GCP, Azure or other cloud services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall reliability of TikTok's video publishing and distribution.
• Manage production systems lifecycle including changes, deployments, and incident response.
• Monitor systems and respond to incidents to meet SLA targets.
• Perform capacity planning for compute, storage and network resources.
• Provide strong support during big events with high traffic.
• Build tools, automation, visualizations and monitors for global infrastructure.
